Sesame Honey Chickpeas
Make those rather bland chickpeas delicious with an Asian inspired sesame honey sticky sauce.

Equipment
- 1 Sauce Pan
Ingredients
- 1 cup Chickpeas Canned, (or dried soaked over night and precooked to soft)
- 1 tbsp Sesame seed oil
- 1 tsp Ginger Fresh, grated
- 1 tsp Garlic Fresh pressed
- 1 tbsp Sesame seeds
- 1 Red chili Dried red chili
- 1 tbsp Scallions; white and green tops (Green onions)
- 1 tsp Bullion powder
- 1 tbsp Water
- 1 tbsp Tamari sauce (soy sauce)
- 1 tbsp Cilantro Fresh chopped (optional)
- 1 tbsp Honey
Instructions
If using dried chickpeas....
- Soak about ½ cup of dried chickpeas overnight; pressure cook in about 2 cups water the next day for about 16 whistles on media heat. Drain and use.
Sesame Honey Chickpeas
- Add the sesame oil to a sauce pan and heat. Add the ginger, garlic, sesame seeds, dried red chili and the white, chopped scallions. Stir and cook for several minutes.
- Add the chickpeas, bullion powder, tamari and water, and mix well. Heat and stir over medium heat to reduced the liquid so it's just clinging to the chickpeas.
- Remove from heat, mix in the honey, cilantro and scallion tops.
