Ingredients
1cupChickpeasCanned, (or dried soaked over night and precooked to soft)
1tbspSesame seed oil
1tspGingerFresh, grated
1tspGarlicFresh pressed
1tbspSesame seeds
1Red chiliDried red chili
1tbspScallions; white and green tops(Green onions)
1tspBullion powder
1tbsp Water
1tbspTamari sauce(soy sauce)
1tbspCilantroFresh chopped (optional)
1tbspHoney
Instructions
If using dried chickpeas....
Soak about ½ cup of dried chickpeas overnight; pressure cook in about 2 cups water the next day for about 16 whistles on media heat. Drain and use.
Sesame Honey Chickpeas
Add the sesame oil to a sauce pan and heat. Add the ginger, garlic, sesame seeds, dried red chili and the white, chopped scallions. Stir and cook for several minutes.
Add the chickpeas, bullion powder, tamari and water, and mix well. Heat and stir over medium heat to reduced the liquid so it's just clinging to the chickpeas.
Remove from heat, mix in the honey, cilantro and scallion tops.
