Several times a week, I pass through Loi Bazar to conduct business. Either buying beads or incense, my major suppliers are in the heart of a busy market place reminiscent of a mid-eval bazar. Except for the whizzing tuk-tuks, bombardier motor-scooters, and the incessant cacophony of accompanying horns, I could be walking through the 1500s.
A great place for practicing mindfulness.
Today I picked out some very fresh cauliflower (for Spicy Cauliflower) and some beautiful fresh green. broccoli. Broccoli is not traditionally used in any Indian recipes, but it has infiltrated the markets, perhaps to appease the foreigners. I’ve never seen any Indian use it. When broccoli is in season, I’ll buy it every day, blanch it, and have it available to mix in to rice, pasta or just eat it plain.
