Sweet 'n' Sour Paneer

Fruits, Vegetables & Paneer
- ½ can Pineapple Or fresh, or whole can; chopped into bit size pieces
- 1 Red bell pepper Fresh, chopped into bit size pieces
- 1 cup Paneer Fresh, bit size pieces
- 1 Onion Finely chopped
- 2 tsp Ginger Fresh grated
- 2 tsp Garlic Fresh pressed
- 2 Red Chili, dried More of less to taste
Sauce
- ⅓ cup Ketchup
- 1 tbsp Chili sauce
- 2 tbsp Corn starch
- 2 tbsp Sugar
- 2 tbsp Rice Vinegar
- ½ cup Pineapple juice From the can. Use water if no juice available
- 1 tbsp Dark Soy Sauce
Miscellaneoous
- 1 tbsp Sesame oil
- 1 tsp Black peppercorn Fresh ground
- Water as needed
- 1 Star anise
- 1 Cinnamon stick
- 3 Cloves
- 2 tbsp Cilantro Fresh chopped
Heat sesame oil in the kadai pan. Add the star anise, cinnamon stick, cloves, dried red chili and fresh cracked black pepper. Stir release fragrance.
Add in the chopped onions and stir and cook over medium heat until the onions are soft, translucent and turning a bit brown.
Stir in the fresh ginger and garlic.
Whisk all the ingredients for the sauce together in a separate bowl.
When the onions are done, stir in the sauce ingredients. Stir and the sauce will thicken. Add more water if necessary for good consistency.
Mix in the red bell peppers and pineapple chunks.
Finally, mix in the paneer and chopped cilantro; remove from heat and serve!
